Discovering Rodrigues: Our Stay at C Mourouk

During our recent trip to Rodrigues, we spent three nights and four days at C Mourouk, and it turned out to be the perfect place to experience the island’s relaxed rhythm and breathtaking natural beauty.

From the moment we arrived, we were instantly in holiday mode. Rodrigues has a special charm of its own, peaceful, authentic and surrounded by stunning landscapes and C Mourouk captures that atmosphere beautifully.

The hotel is ideally located facing the lagoon and the famous Mourouk kitesurfing spot, offering spectacular views of the turquoise waters and the endless horizon. Waking up to that scenery every morning was simply magical. The sound of the wind and the ocean creates a calm and refreshing atmosphere that truly makes you feel disconnected from the rest of the world.

We travelled as a group of five, four adults and my little nephew who is four years old and the hotel was perfect for everyone. Our rooms were spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. One thing we particularly appreciated was that my room was connected to my sister’s, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable as a family.

From the reception to room service, the entire team was attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. The service was warm, genuine and always delivered with a smile.

Our culinary experience was also a highlight of the trip. On our first day, we had lunch at Salty Cabri Beach Shack, the restaurant located right by the beach. We enjoyed delicious pizzas and an excellent fresh fish carpaccio, all while enjoying the beautiful seaside setting.

The first evening, the hotel organised a Chinese buffet night, offering a wide variety of dishes. Everything we tried was excellent and the selection was generous, allowing everyone to find something they loved.

Throughout our stay, we also enjoyed ti-punch, cocktails and a very good wine selection. As wine lovers, we were particularly happy to discover that the hotel, part of the Constance group, offers some great wine options to complement the dining experience.

Breakfast each morning was also very enjoyable. The buffet is varied and well balanced, with a cold section, hot dishes and a great selection of fresh fruits, the perfect way to start the day before heading out to explore Rodrigues or simply relax by the lagoon.

C Mourouk is also very family friendly. In the evenings, the hotel organises small entertainment activities such as “la chance au crabe”, which adds a fun local touch to the stay. There is also a spacious play area with games for children, conveniently located near the pool, which kept my nephew entertained while the adults could relax nearby.

What truly made our stay memorable, however, was the team. A special thank you goes to Steward, Kevans and Julio, who were incredibly attentive throughout our stay. Steward in particular stood out with his positive energy, warm smile and genuine care for the guests. Small gestures like these make a big difference and leave lasting memories.

For this trip, we booked our stay through BlueSky Travel, and I would highly recommend doing the same when planning a trip to Rodrigues. In my experience, booking through an agency often offers much more competitive packages, especially as flights and accommodation are usually combined together. The service was smooth, efficient and very well organised.

Rodrigues is truly a destination where time slows down and simple moments become the most beautiful memories. Our stay at C Mourouk perfectly reflected that spirit, combining comfort, great service and an incredible natural setting.
