- ABOUT US -
Two Mauritians, eleven years together, and one quiet obsession:
seeing the world while we still have the time to be curious about it.
- MEET US -
We are Delcia and Nim.
A Mauritian couple. A marketer and an Art Director.
Two people who chose travel as a second language and never looked back. This blog is the journal of everything we discover along the way. Slowly when we can, urgently when we cannot. Always with a notebook, a camera, and one carry-on too
many.

- CHAPTER ONE
How it started
Travel did not happen to me by accident.
Travel did not happen to me by accident.
It happened the year I left Mauritius for France. A small student room in Poitiers. A summer internship at the casino in Larmor-Plage. A bachelor thesis to finish. A part-time job whose pay I refused to spend on rent. I saved every euro.
That summer, I took the cheapest plane I could find from France to Germany. From there, a road trip through Austria and Italy, with people I had met a few hours earlier. Oktoberfest in Munich. Lakes glowing in the Alps. Cobblestones in Murano. Sausages eaten standing up at midnight markets.
I came back to my dorm with empty pockets and a head full of places I had to come back to.
That trip is the reason this blog exists.
- CHAPTER TWO
How we met
Nim and I met in 2015, in a Mauritian nightclub, Insomnia, through
mutual friends.
Not the most Romantic origin story. Just the truest one.
A decade later, we are still planning trips together over a good glass of
white wine. He brings the photographer's eye. I bring the planner's brain.
Somewhere between his lens and my spreadsheets, The Dodo Travelers was born.

- CHAPTER THREE
Our Island Life
We do not have children, but we have a ten-year-old German Shepherd named Harley, who is full of energy and loves his dad, Nim. We also have a water turtle, Angel, who does nothing and somehow rules over everyone. People say turtles are slow, but ours is a Speedy Gonzales. He loves my grandma. The funny thing is, when we go abroad, he stays with her, and when we get back, he is kind of upset that we left him. So, he'll only let my uncle or grandma feed him, completely ignoring us.
And we have Mauritius. Our Island. Our base. Our reset button.
When we are not on a plane, we are exploring our own coastline. Weekend stays in small guesthouses. Long lunches at beachfront restaurants. Family apéros in Curepipe. Partying with our friends of over 20 years. Sunset walks at Bain Boeuf. The kind of Sundays that remind us why we always come home.

- THE PROMISE -

02
The Mauritian point of view
What our passport really allows. How
far our rupees stretch

04
Football detours.
Manchester United is non-negociable.
05
Slow planning, fast living.
We plan everything. We just leave room to be surprised.
